Road Trip to Conference - Advantages for Local Users!

For those of you within driving distance of Conference, this year might be your best opportunities to economically and conveniently attend Conference with your parish staff! We're only the area once every three years, and if you're in one of these dioceses, you're definitely close enough to save your airfare and take a road trip!

What Are the Advantages for Local Dioceses and Parishes?

  • Travel flexibility: Travel at your own pace, and escape from the hassle and anxiety of the airport by driving instead. This year, Conference is close enough to do it!
  • Save on travel expenses: Not only is driving less stressful, but it's also economical. While airfare isn't cheap, carpooling with your parish staff is easy and affordable!
  • Collaborate with other parishes: Use Conference as an opportunity to get in touch with other ParishSOFT users in the area and drive together. While you learn (and drive) together, you'll strengthen your local parish connections.
  • Once every 3 years: We're only in the area once every three years, so come to Conference 2012 because it will be a while before we're back!

Airport Shuttle Services

The Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort (a.k.a. the conference hotel) does not offer direct shuttle service to and from the region's major airports. However, they do recommend three diferent shuttle services for conference attendees to utilize:

Super Shuttle

Karmel Shuttle

Prime Time Shuttle

All three shuttles serve Los Angeles Airport (LAX), John Wayne, Orange County Airport (SNA), and Long Beach Airport (LGB).

Super Shuttle and Prime Time Shuttle also service Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Bob Hope, Burbank Airport (BUR).

Check out each shuttle service's website for information and to make reservations.

Tips for Doing the Conference on a Budget

We know travel expenses can really add up when attending an out-of-town conference. So here are some ideas we hope will help you find ways to save a bit on your trip to Anaheim this fall.

  • Register early! That $350 early bird rate shoots up to $425 on Sept. 24.
  • Share travel costs. Carpool if you are driving. If you'll need to fly, consider asking parishioners to donate a frequent flyer ticket.
  • Share a room. You'll probably have staff from other parishes in your diocese attending, so line up a roommate for the Crowne Plaza Anaheim.
  • Book through the hotel website. Special ParishSOFT rates are available when you book using the code PRS, or when you book through the Crowne Plaza conference website. Rates are good for 3 days before and after the conference if you wish to add a personal outing to your trip.
  • Refer to the conference website! We've included lots of pertinent information under the Locations tab to help you plan your trip. Check out the hotel information, special Disney rates, area restaurants, local attractions and travel information.
